Ingredients:
- 1 ½ pounds breakfast sausage
- ½ stick butter
- ½ cup flour
- 4 cups whole milk
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
- Cook and crumble the sausage in a large skillet until done. Soak up any excess grease with a paper towel.
- Add the butter to the skillet and melt it completely.
- Mix in the flour until it is fully absorbed by the butter and sausage mixture.
- Gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the salt and pepper. Add jalapeños if desired for Uncle Trav’s signature style.
- Return the sausage to the gravy and mix well. Adjust the consistency with additional milk if necessary.
- Serve hot over your favorite biscuits and enjoy!
