Sausage & Gravy


Ingredients:

    • 1 ½ pounds breakfast sausage
    • ½ stick butter
    • ½ cup flour
    • 4 cups whole milk
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon pepper

Directions:

  1. Cook and crumble the sausage in a large skillet until done. Soak up any excess grease with a paper towel.
  2. Add the butter to the skillet and melt it completely.
  3. Mix in the flour until it is fully absorbed by the butter and sausage mixture.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring constantly to prevent lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
  5. Stir in the salt and pepper. Add jalapeños if desired for Uncle Trav’s signature style.
  6. Return the sausage to the gravy and mix well. Adjust the consistency with additional milk if necessary.
  7. Serve hot over your favorite biscuits and enjoy!
